The Challenge

Danone isn't one brand, it's a house of brands, each with its own visual identity, tone, and audience: Danimals, OIKOS, Activia, Happy Baby Organics, Silk, Too Good, and more. Bringing that portfolio to life across major retailers like Walmart, Target, and Kroger meant navigating a maze of platform-specific restrictions, each retailer with its own character counts, image dimensions, and content guidelines. On top of that, every asset had to meet ADA compliance standards and hold up across web and mobile responsive safe zones. The challenge was building onsite and offsite creative that felt authentic to each individual brand's identity while fitting neatly inside a constantly shifting set of technical boundaries dictated by the retailers themselves.

The Solution

The approach was to treat each retailer's specs as a design framework rather than a limitation, building flexible templates for every Danone brand that could flex to fit Walmart's onsite modules, Target's offsite placements, or Kroger's PDP requirements without losing brand voice. Copy was tightened to hit each platform's character limits while still sounding like Danimals or Activia, not a generic house style. Layouts were built with responsive safe zones baked in from the start, so nothing got cropped or misaligned across devices, and every asset was checked against ADA contrast and accessibility standards. The result was a scalable system that let six distinct brand identities show up consistently, compliantly, and on-brand across every retail environment.
